Our Story

War Streets Art Salon was founded in 2024 by Pittsburgh-based artist and entrepreneur Clarise Fearn, the creative force behind Clarise Creative Wellness. Our mission is to provide a fun, supportive, and casual environment where adults can explore their creative side without feeling pressured to be "good at art."

We aim to diversify Pittsburgh's social scene by offering an alternative night out experience. Not everyone enjoys spending their evenings in bars, so War Streets Art Salon presents a unique and special way to enjoy time with friends.

Our focus is on adult art workshops and experiences that go beyond the typical paint-and-sip sessions. Each workshop incorporates a mindfulness element, emphasizing the healing power of art and its ability to foster community and authentic connections.

The name "War Streets Art Salon" draws inspiration from the art salons of a historical era, where women gathered to exchange ideas and discuss the transformative power of art. It also pays homage to our location in Pittsburgh's historic Mexican War Streets district.

We are proud to be known for our nurturing environment, charming atmosphere, and exceptional service. Our core values are courage, curiosity, and community, and we strive to embody these in everything we do.

Join us for our grand opening on August 17th, where we'll introduce our Craft Café! We are thrilled to offer even more opportunities for Yinzers to tap into their creativity as we continue to grow.

Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Clarise…

Welcome to our studio! I am so excited that you are here!

This place is here for you to follow your curiosity and dare to make an ugly mess. Here, we do everything we can to break the rules and unlearn what we have been taught about art. Art is the one place where there are no RULES and you can use it to express anything you Want and Need.

My mission here is to help you feed your soul with awe, wonder, and possibility. It’s a space for you to embrace your inner “trickster” who wants so desperately to PLAY and truly embrace the magic that a creative life can bring you.

If you are here to learn the rules of ART making. You are in the wrong place. But if you are here to dance with inspiration and all the paradoxes that art is, well then welcome my friend. Let’s go on an adventure together :)

Clarise Fearn, BFA, Certified Social & Emotional Arts Facilitator.
